LET'S TALK TALLOW!
WHAT IS TALLOW?
-
Tallow is an essential part of the cattle business. Tallow is beef fat, also known as suet before it is rendered. It is what keeps cattle warm and thriving, gives flavor to your beef, and now nourishes your skin.
-
There are two types of beef tallow that we use in skincare.
-
Trim Tallow- a lighter fat that covers the exterior part of the body.
-
Leaf Fat- a much denser internal fat.
-
-
We utilize as much of the excess suet to help the beef industry remain as sustainable as possible.
WHY TALLOW OVER TRADITIONAL SKINCARE?

-
Tallow is 100% natural, sustainable, and nourishing. It should not be compared to other skincare on the market because it has unique characteristics. Tallow is a saturated fat, full of vitamins and minerals such as vitamin A, E, K and collagen. Due to the simplistic structure, it is bioavailable and therefore easily absorbed, and will not clog pores.
-
Our tallow products are made with pure tallow, Revive essential oils, and occasionally high quality ingredients and bees wax depending on the individual item. Because we don't use any stabilizers or other carrier oils, our products are firmer and sensitive to temperature.
-
By keeping our products closest to their natural state it is important to understand that temperature will change the consistency. In direct sun or heat, they will melt, and in the cold, they will get very firm. We recommend keeping our products at room temperature, out of direct sun; they should be firm, but easy to apply. Once applied to your skin, allow them to soak in for 5-10 minutes for non-greasy, pearly, smooth skin.
WHAT TO EXPECT

-
Long Term Storage: Tallow is shelf stable, but if you purchase extra we suggest storing them in the fridge or freezer. By keeping tallow extra cold it will last well over a year and ensure freshness and stabilized texture.
-
Please note, every batch of tallow is as unique as the cow it was derived from; color, texture, and smell may vary by batch.
-
We pride ourselves in making the best quality products with thorough rendering, purifying, and whipping processes.
WHEN SWAPPING TO TALLOW PRODUCTS...
-
When you first swap or start using tallow for skincare be aware your skin will detox your other products in the first 2 weeks.
-
Start with a small amount, as a little goes a long way, and allow your skin to adapt. To avoid a greasy look, use most of your product in the middle of your face and less around the hairline.
-
Tallow products take slightly longer to absorb but are 10x more available and moisturizing to the skin.
